Our temple has been celebrating Soorasamharam festival (falls on the 6th day after Deepavali) as part of the Skanda Shashti Utsavam every year since opening. The festival is celebrated to mark the destruction of the demon Soorapadman by Murugan riding on his Mayil (peacock) Vahanam. The divine action of Murugan annihilating Soorapadman is enacted at our temple as part of the Soorasamharam celebration every year. The celebration is concluded with a grand Murugan Thirukkalyanam (wedding).
We are in the process of procuring a Sooran and Mayil Vahanam for this yearly celebration and are reaching out to all devotees to come forward and donate generously.
